At the south end of Lawrence Lake, there is still the remains of a "log flume" that was constructed back in the 1930's. The timbers were hand-cut at the sight with hand saws. Lawrence Lake was dammed at the mouth of the stream during the winter to allow the loggers to do their work. Quite a "work of art", considering when and how this was constructed. The flume "shot" the logs over the rapids to eliminate log jams and keep the timber floating down-stream on the way to Rainy River. Check this out and bring your camera.
